One of the advantages of a catamaran is its stability in a horizontal plane.
Sailing in Brittany on an Excess 11 catamaran as owner, I'm wondering if it's still possible to “beach” my catamaran?
More generally, is the possibility of beaching still feasible and taken into account in the design of modern catamarans? I’m sure nobody emphasizes this advantage anymore.

Dear forum, I am getting an excess 14 and would like to stay away from a noisy generator. I plan to install externally regulated, alternators, and a lithium battery bank with solar panels on the roof. I was thinking of adding a secondary generator on each engine controlled by a wakespeed WS 500 speed and a victron energy installation similar as seen in this example.

Bonjour, après avoir vu plusieurs bateaux-copains rencontrer des soucis avec l'histoire d'amour entre l'eau de mer et l'urine qui donne naissance à un "conglomérat" type calcaire qui a tendance à boucher les évacuations... Je voudrais avoir le retour d'expérience des contributeurs du LAB pour faire le bon choix dans la configuration de notre prochain Excess 14. L'avantage bien sûr des toilettes à l'eau de mer est de ne pas utiliser d'eau potable...

I’ve heard it said that cruising catamarans are designed to withstand winds of 40 knots under full sail. Being lighter and faster than the majority of the competition, how does this work for Excess?

This may be a subject that does not immediately appeal to everyone. Perhaps because you only sail in very sunny and warm areas, or that the Viking blood runs through your veins?
