Hello. I am interested in knowing if any other Excess 14 owners have added an on-board air compressor for scuba tanks and, if so, where did you place the compressor and how is that working? We take delivery in June and I am making final plans for the many 'add-ons' that we will implement.

Thank you for your contribution!
We’ll keep it in mind and consider it for future models.

Congrats on the boat!
Not Excess14 specific, but we installed one (Bauer Jr2) on our last boat - and given lack of other spaces, mounted it under a guest berth. The compressors get hot and also require drainage, so you'd want to have a plan for both venting as well as draining off the moisture buildup (both of which we did). Maybe not perfect... but it functioned well.

As a point of knowledge however... despite our love of diving - filling tanks is loud and cumbersome, and we found that we almost never used them outside of an emergency (freeing the anchor or helping neighbors untangle chains/anchors after a dragging, etc).
We are unlikely to install another compressor on our Excess13, but may well opt for one of the mini-compressors and/or snuba systems for when those events happen.
Happy to discuss in more depth if helpful!
